Strikeforce / M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Werdum (June/26/2010)
Known by some as the baddest man on the planet, Fedor Emelianenko was considered by many to be the best heavyweight MMA fighter of all time. Stacking up 31 victories and being undefeated for 10 years made Fedor appear to be invincible. However, on this night, a man by the name of Fabricio Werdum, a two-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion, utilized his ground skills to end the reign of “The Last Emperor.” After falling to his back, Werdum was able to wrap his legs against the legend, setting up the triangle arm bar choke that shook the world.
Fedor would end up having 5 more fights (going 3-2) before retiring on June 21, 2012. Werdum is scheduled to coach the next season of TUF Brazil against fellow countryman Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira.
